- To ask the Solicitor-General what his most recent assessment is of the effectiveness of the HM Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office in carrying out its functions.

[holding answer 15 November 2010]: The Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office (RCPO) merged with the Crown Prosecution Service on 1 January 2010. Her Majesty's Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate's (HMCPSI) report of July 2009 reported favourably on RCPO performance. The report concluded that RCPO has succeeded in restoring public and judicial confidence in customs prosecutions.
