Armed Forces: Families

Question: To ask Her Majesty’s Government what plans they have to conduct studies on the impact on families of repeated operational deployment of the Armed Forces.

Answer: There are currently no plans to conduct a bespoke study into the impact on families of repeated operational deployment of the Armed Forces. The single services run annual families' continuous attitude surveys and the Armed Forces continuous attitude survey which include questions on how personnel and their families feel about many aspects of service life, including operational deployments. In addition, we have strong links with research communities in the UK and allied countries, all of which feed into welfare policies.
