Building Foam
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if she will make it her policy to establish specific and detailed guidance at (a) EU and (b) UK level on the treatment of building foam containing ozone depleting substances; and if she will make a statement.
- Answer
-
The European Commission intends to let a tender for an EU-wide study which will include the development of recommended measures for reducing emissions of ozone-depleting substances from building foams. The contract is expected to be let shortly and the work should be completed within 14 months. This should provide the basis for an EU-wide approach to the treatment of these building foams.
