Floods: Upton-upon-Severn
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government when the Planning Inspectorate will consider the application from the Environment Agency for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on the banks of the River Severn at Upton-upon-Severn in order to build flood defences.
- Answer
-
The Planning Inspectorate has considered the application, together with the correspondence relating to it, and has decided that a site inspection is needed to inform its decision. A site visit by an inspector has initially been offered to parties to take place on 12 April 2011. However, the Planning Inspectorate is currently looking at options to hold the site visit earlier, in February 2011. A decision on the application will be made following the site visit.
