High Speed Trains

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has plans for Maidstone to be linked to the High Speed Network.
Answer

Following the meeting which I had with the hon. Member for Maidstone and The Weald and other hon. Members representing Kent constituencies on 27 July 2010, Department for Transport officials have been working in conjunction with Southeastern to assess the service provision to stations in Maidstone and analyse where improvements to the level of service provision can be made.Any options which are considered in this respect will be predicated on the need to be affordable and provide value for money.
