- (2) when her Department plans to introduce its proposed new system for holding DNA samples.

We will bring forward a package of proposals on DNA retention in the Freedom Bill. These proposals will build on our commitment to adopt the protections of the Scottish model.We are working with the police service so that our proposals can be implemented as soon as possible after they have received parliamentary approval.
