Pensions: Consumer Price Index

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if he will publish each policy paper which informed his decision to uprate pensions and benefits in line with the consumer price index rather than the retail price index.
Answer

The decision to uprate pensions and benefits in line with the consumer prices index rather than the retail prices index was based on a range of factors including the fact that the CPI is the headline measure of inflation in Great Britain, and the coverage and methodology of each index. Policy advice to Ministers is not generally published.
