Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the answer by Lord Sassoon on 11 January (HL Deb, col. 1333), what is the amount of corporation tax to be paid by the United Kingdom's six largest banks in 2009–10; and what is the amount forecast to be paid by the same banks in 2010–11.
Answer

Due to HM Revenue and Custom’s taxpayer confidentiality rules, it is not possible to provide the amount of corporation tax to be paid, or forecast to be paid, by the United Kingdom’s six largest banks in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
