Sea Rescue

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to his answer of 18 January 2011, Official Report, column 664W, on sea rescue, what the name was of each member of the team; what relevant experience each such member had prior to their appointment; and what criteria were used to select them.
Answer

[holding answer 31 January 2011]: As stated in my answer of 18 January 2011, Official Report, column 664W, the proposals set out in the consultation document represent the collective, corporate position of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and its chief executive, Sir Alan Massey. It would be wholly inappropriate to name individually the full range of MCA and Department for Transport civil servants who have contributed to the development of these proposals over several years, or who were involved in the final creation of the consultation document.
