Exports: Afghanistan and Iraq
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice (1) how many people have been (a) charged with and (b) convicted of exporting ADE-651 bomb detectors and similar devices to Afghanistan since January 2010;
- Answer
-
As information collated centrally by the Ministry of Justice does not include the circumstances of offences other than those specified in a statute, it is not possible to identify specific offences relating to exporting ADE-651 bomb detectors and similar devices to Afghanistan or Iraq.The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has banned the export of the ADE 651 and similar devices to those two countries under the Export Control Act 2002, with effect from 27 January 2010.
