Written question asked by Paul Flynn (Labour) on Tuesday, 15 February 2011, in the House of Commons. It was due for an answer on Tuesday, 1 March 2011. It was answered by Lord Barker of Battle (Conservative) on Tuesday, 1 March 2011 on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Carbon Trust

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what assessment he has made of the effects on achievement of carbon reduction targets of reductions in the budgets of the (a) Carbon Trust and (b) Energy Savings Trust.
Answer

No assessment has been made as both the Carbon Trust and Energy Saving Trust continue to develop their business plans for 2011-12 and in doing so are seeking to drive efficiencies, while maintaining existing levels of service and outcomes where possible. From October 2012, we expect an even greater level of emissions reductions to be achieved with the implementation of the Green Deal, a new scheme to drive energy efficiency in buildings.
