Proceeding contribution from Lord Young of Cookham (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 17 February 2011. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
I understand my hon. Friend's deep concern on the subject, which she has made one of her special interests. My understanding is that the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is a professional body which is independent of Government, and it has set its own consultation periods. There is a consultation period of four weeks—as is standard for the college—and it ends tomorrow, although any responses received by 25 February will be accepted. However, I will, of course, pass on her comments to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health.
