Dog and Cat Population
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what information her Department holds on the effectiveness of (a) neutering and (b) euthanasia as a means of control of the dog and cat population.
- Answer
-
DEFRA has not conducted any formal research into the effectiveness of using neutering and euthanasia to control the dog and cat population, but I think it is fair to assume that without these methods the numbers of these animals would be much larger.
