Missing Persons

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether she plans to establish an inter-departmental ministerial group on missing persons to oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the Missing Persons Taskforce.

Answer: I am continuing to assess the recommendations of the Missing Persons Taskforce. I have met with ministerial colleagues from the Department for Education and the Department of Health as part of this work.The need to improve the response to missing persons is important to the Government. I have established a senior officials group to advise Ministers on the priorities for missing persons services arising from the Taskforce recommendations.
