Missing Persons

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of States contribution on 26 October 2011, Official Report, column 59WH, on missing persons, when she expects to publish the findings of the review into the recommendations of the Missing Taskforce Review.

Answer: The Home Office has carried out an assessment of the 22 recommendations in the Missing Taskforce Review. Seven have already been delivered, action is under way on a further 10 and the remainder are subject to further consideration. We are working with our counterparts in other Government Departments to consider what further action is needed in this important area, taking account of other relevant developments including, for example, the Munro Review of Child Protection and the transfer of responsibility for missing children from the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP).
