Justice: Local Criminal Justice Boards

Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they will issue guidance that defence solicitors should be represented on local criminal justice boards to ensure that the boards are fully representative of local criminal justice communities.
Answer

): All local criminal justice boards are expected to have arrangements to engage and involve the defence community. This ranges from regular meetings with defence representatives, defence membership of sub-groups of the board to co-option of a defence representative on to the board.
