Landmines

Question: To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Astor of Hever on 17 March (WA 85), in what other parts of the world they are providing assistance with mine clearing efforts.

Answer: The UK provides assistance for mine clearance and related activities to the following countries: Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cambodia, Laos, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Mozambique and Vietnam. The UK is also responsible for mine clearance in the Falkland Islands.
