Technology: Greater London

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills with reference to the Plan for Growth, what assessment he has made of progress in contracting out the marketing of the East London Tech City initiative; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

The Government announced last year its blueprint for technology—this includes plans to develop Tech City in East London. The goal is to take Britain on the right path to a high-tech future.As part of this, UKTI's Tech City Investment Organisation has established a team of entrepreneurs to help East London become a world-leading technology cluster and magnet for technology-led inward investment, talent and innovation.UK Trade and Investment is leading on the marketing for Tech City with the support of Hill and Knowlton on the international marketing strategy. The Hill and Knowlton team will be based in the heart of Tech City.
