Missing Persons

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether she plans to implement the recommendations of the Missing Persons Taskforce; and if she will make a statement.

Answer: The Home Office has carried out an assessment of the 22 recommendations in the Missing Taskforce Review. Seven have already been delivered, action is under way on a further 10 and the remainder are subject to further consideration. We are working with our counterparts in other Government Departments to consider what further action is needed in this important area, taking account of other relevant developments including, for example, the Munro Review of Child Protection and the transfer of responsibility for missing children from the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) to Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP).
