Missing Persons

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what her policy is on the role of the police in the investigation of missing persons.
Answer

The police play an important role with regards to missing persons and are the lead agency in investigating missing persons incidents.Identifying and ensuring the safest return possible for children and adults who go missing forms part of the police service's child protection and wider safeguarding role.
