- (2) what measures are in place to monitor the (a) nursing and (b) medical care experienced by patients in NHS hospitals.

The National Patient Survey Programme, co-ordinated by the Care Quality Commission, is used to measure different aspects of patients' experiences of care. Surveys contain a variety of experience-based questions, which include questions on the relationships between doctors, nurses and patients, and care and treatment.National health service organisations may also measure patient experience according to local requirements.
