- To ask the hon. Member for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross, representing the House of Commons Commission, how much the House of Commons Service spent on (a) printers and (b) printer ink cartridges in each of the last three years.

The House of Commons Service spent the following on printers for the use of House staff:
Financial year Expenditure (£) 2008-09 41,000 2009-10 44,000 2010-11 55,000 Most House of Commons printers use toner rather than ink cartridges. It is not possible to state the amount of toner and ink purchased since it is not coded separately in the House's accounting system and can be purchased from a number of suppliers.
