- To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many (a) boys and (b) girls were subject to fixed period exclusions in maintained secondary schools in each local authority area in each of the last five years.

The requested information has been placed in the House Libraries.The latest available data on exclusions were published in the Statistical First Release 'Permanent and Fixed Period Exclusions from Schools in England 2008/09' on 29 July 2010 at:"http://www.education.gov.uk/rsgateway/DB/SFR/s000942/index.shtml"Information for 2009/10 is due to be published on 28 July 2011.
