- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make representations to his Brazilian counterpart in respect of the refusal of Brazil to allow British seafarers ashore whilst at Brazilian ports because the UK has not ratified the International Labour Organisation's convention 108.

The UK has ratified the International Labour Organisation 108, a convention concerning seafarers' identity documents. The Department for Transport is not aware of any recent incidences where British seafarers have been denied access at Brazilian ports.
