Year of diagnosis 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 HIV diagnoses 11 14 21 23 17 Notes: 1. These data represent new HIV diagnoses made in East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust which includes but is not limited to the borough of Pendle. It is not possible to present new HIV diagnosis data at local authority level. The geographical region presented relates to area of diagnosis and does not necessarily reflect patient residence. 2. Patients may live with HIV for many years before they are diagnosed. Therefore new diagnosis data do not necessarily reflect recently acquired infections. Diagnoses are from reports received to end December 2010. Numbers will rise as further reports are received.
