New Waterways Charity
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the ability of the new waterways charity to sustain and improve the quality of the existing network of canals and rivers through private donations.
- Answer
-
Targeted market research and modelling for British Waterways indicates that fundraising from sources such as regular donors or legacies could be worth up to £8.5 million (net) after 10 years, based on 130,000 regular donors taking part. Achieving these projections will require investment in building up the donor population.
