Government Car and Despatch Agency: Uniforms

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much the Government Car and Despatch Agency has spent on uniforms for its drivers in the last 12 months for which figures are available.
Answer

Records available for the period April 2010 to March 2011 show that the Government Car and Despatch Agency spent £16,000 on uniforms during that time. All purchases were made through OGC Buying Solutions. Of the £16,000 spent, £11,000 was spent on Government mail driver uniforms and £5,000 on Government Car driver uniforms. By way of comparison, for the period April 2009 to March 2010 the Government Car and Despatch Agency spent a total of £41,000 on uniforms.
