- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what plans they have to ensure that Parliament is able to debate and express a view upon the admission of further states to the Commonwealth before such admissions are agreed.

Membership of the Commonwealth is a matter for the Commonwealth Secretariat and decisions are made by consensus of the heads of all member states. The Government would consult fully before making any decision on whether to support the admission of any further states.
