- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Howell of Guildford on 28 June (WA 417), what assessment they have made of whether Turkey is fulfilling its Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe commitments on media freedom.
- Answer
-
It is for the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to determine whether Turkey is meeting its OSCE commitments on media freedom. We have closely followed the recent statements regarding Turkey by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatovic, and continue to monitor the situation. We expect Turkey to fulfil its OSCE commitments, including those on freedom of the media.
