India: Overseas Aid

- To ask the Secretary of State for International Development whether his Department's projects and programmes in India include the promotion of sustainable management of natural resources; and if he will make a statement.

Between 2011 and 2015, UK development cooperation in India will focus on health and nutrition, education, water and sanitation, urban development and unlocking the potential of the private sector to promote jobs and opportunities for poor people. New plans are being developed under the International Climate Fund to support programmes that promote increased resilience of the rural poor in India to climate change, including through better natural resource management and sustainable agriculture.
