Belarus

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when (a) he and (b) Ministers in his Department last had direct discussions with the government of Belarus.
Answer

There have been no direct ministerial discussions between the UK and Belarus since the last general election. I did however see the Belarusian ambassador to London on 22 December 2010 to express condemnation on behalf of the British Government of the abuse of political freedom by the Belarusian authorities which followed the presidential elections on 19 December 2010.
