Enterprise Allowance Scheme: Wales

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether he has had discussions on the development of the enterprise allowance scheme with (a) the Welsh Government and (b) professional bodies representing business advisers in Wales.

Answer: The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, my right hon. Friend the Member for Chingford and Woodford Green (Mr Duncan Smith), and Ministers from the Department for Work and Pensions have discussed welfare reform with the Welsh Government, however the development of the New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) has not formed part of those discussions.In developing the NEA the Department consulted with a number of stakeholders across the country, however the Secretary of State has not discussed the development of the NEA with any professional bodies specifically representing business advisers in Wales.
