Railways: Fares

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport with reference to the Passenger Focus report, Ticket Retailing Website Usability, June 2011, what steps her Department is taking to improve the accessibility of the lowest priced train tickets sold via web sites.
Answer

The Department has noted this interesting piece of work.We have already indicated that we plan to look at ticket retailing as part of our Fares Review. However, a number of Passenger Focus's recommendations are actions rail ticket retailers could take now and we would look to them to do so, for example, by helping passengers to understand that advance tickets are for one train and one train only.
