Police: Operational Policing

- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what decisions were taken by Ministers in relation to operational policing during the recent riots.

The Home Secretary set out her clear expectations to chief officers on the police response to the disorder, and offered her support to ensure that they had the necessary resources and powers to deal with the disorder. Operational policing decisions were taken by the chief officers of police.
