- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what was the value of their equity holding in British banks in 2010; and what is its current value.

The value of the Government's equity holdings in the Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group and Northern Rock plc, as at the end of March 2010, was £61.1 billion. The value of these holdings, as at the end of March 2011, was £56.5 billion. These estimates are set out in HM Treasury's resource accounts for 2009-10 and 2010-11.
