Justice: Class Action Lawsuits
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government when they will publish their consultation on class action lawsuits.
- Answer
-
The UK Government do not intend to consult on a generic right to bring class actions and do not support the introduction of such a right at UK or EU level. The Government have indicated they would consider collective redress mechanisms in specific sectors such as competition, but will decide when and whether to consult on such proposals following a robust assessment of need.
