- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps she is taking to ensure that individuals charged with, but not convicted of, criminal offences have recourse to remove any allegations from their enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks.

The Protection of Freedoms Bill will, when enacted, make amendments to part V of the Police Act, 1997. Specifically, a process will be introduced for people to ask for an independent review of any information disclosed by a chief officer on an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) certificate that they consider not to be relevant or ought not to be included on the certificate.
