Commons Act 2006

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how many officials in her Department are working on monitoring and implementing the provisions of the Commons Act 2006.
Answer

DEFRA currently has 1.5 staff working on monitoring and implementing the provisions in the Commons Act 2006 and support is provided by DEFRA legal advisers. Casework consents relating to common land under the 2006 Act and other enactments are managed on behalf of the Secretary of State by a team of five staff in the Planning Inspectorate.
