- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (1) what estimate she has made of the likely cost to the public purse of the compulsory microchipping of dogs;
- Answer

Officials have prepared an assessment of all aspects of microchipping, including the voluntary system and the cost of compulsory microchipping, and this assessment will inform DEFRA policy.
