Alcoholic Drinks: Misuse

- To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment has been made of the relationship between geographic density of off-licences and alcohol harm in (a) young people and (b) adults.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence published guidance in June 2010, 'Alcohol-use disorders: preventing the development of hazardous and harmful drinking', based on a series of evidence reviews. Evidence statements 2.21, 2.22, 2.24 and 2.25 summarise the evidence for a relationship between alcohol outlet density and harm in young people and adults..The guidance has been placed in the Library.
