Schools: Technology

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education what recent estimate his Department has made of the number and proportion of schools that have been sold or leased IT equipment at above market prices.
Answer

The Department does not hold estimates of the excess costs that have been incurred by schools sold or leased IT equipment at above market prices. The Department collects a Consistent Financial Reporting (CFR) return for all schools maintained by local authorities (LAs) at the end of each financial year. CFR does not record spending in a way that specifically identifies how much each school has spent on bought or leased IT equipment.
