Democratic Republic of Congo: Elections

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether his Department has taken steps to encourage the full publication of the results of the National Assembly elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Answer

We have lobbied strongly, and called publicly for the Democratic Republic of Congo electoral commission (CENI) to take every measure to ensure that the compilation and publication of results of the National Assembly elections is free of irregularities. We expect that the full results of the DRC national assembly elections will be published by the end of January. There have been delays, but the DRC electoral commission (CENI) is publishing results on its website as they become available.
