Extradition: Egypt
- Question
- (2) how many applications have been made by the Egyptian government for the extradition of Egyptian nationals from the UK in each year since 1982; and if she will place details of these cases in the Library.
- Answer
-
From 1982 to date, no one has been extradited from the UK to Egypt. It is a matter of long standing policy and practice that the UK will neither confirm nor deny the existence of an extradition request made or received by this country before an arrest is made pursuant to the request.
