- To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change whether he has made an assessment of the economic value to the Carbon Trust of its branding.

The Department has not made an assessment of the economic value to the Carbon Trust of its branding.However, under the terms and conditions of DECC's grant to the Carbon Trust, a private company limited by guarantee, the trust must comply with European state aid rules and ensure that use of grant does not unlawfully subsidise any. commercial activity.
