Secondary Education: Literacy
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Education what measures are in place to ensure that secondary school pupils with literacy difficulties are identified early and receive adequate support; and if he will make a statement.
- Answer
-
Primary schools transfer information about each pupil's educational attainment, as well as about any special educational needs, to the pupil's secondary school. It is the responsibility of secondary schools to assess the needs of all pupils when they arrive and to provide them with the support they need to progress.
