Veterinary Medicine: Fees and Charges

- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (1) what estimate she has made of the average veterinary fee for (a) individuals and (b) farms in each of the last five years; and if she will make a statement;
- Answer

No such records are held by DEFRA and to research and obtain this detailed information would incur a disproportionate cost. There is no statutory control on veterinary fees and as such it is not for Government to intervene in this matter. It is for individual customers to decide whichever veterinary practice most suits their needs.
