Veterinary Medicine: Fees and Charges

- (2) what information her Department holds on average veterinary costs to farms in each year since 1997 by type of farm.
- Answer

No such records are held by DEFRA and to research and obtain this detailed information would incur a disproportionate cost. There is no statutory control on veterinary fees and as such it is not for Government to intervene in this matter. It is for individual customers to decide whichever veterinary practice most suits their needs.
