Criminal Record Checks

- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent progress she has made on reforming the Criminal Records Bureau status checks regime.

We are committed to making the criminal records regime more proportionate and efficient. The Protection of Freedoms Bill includes provisions for portable criminal records checks and subject to Royal Assent, we expect the online checking service to be rolled out in early 2013.
