Regional Assistance: Northern Ireland

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what discussions he has had with his EU counterparts on retaining automatic assisted area status for Northern Ireland.
Answer

The decision on whether Northern Ireland should retain its 100% automatic assisted area status as set out in the Industrial Development Act 1982 is a decision for the UK Government and as such I have not discussed this with my EU counterparts.
