Digital Switchover Help Scheme

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what steps he is taking to ensure that groups of people who are eligible for assistance from the digital television switchover help scheme receive that assistance.

Answer: The Switchover Help Scheme directly contacts everyone eligible for help well in advance of switchover in their area to provide them with information about the scheme and the cost, if any, to the individual. It also carries out a widespread information campaign, including advertising on TV, radio, press and buses, a publicity campaign and through outreach activities with local authorities, third sector groups, and in the community, to try to ensure that everyone knows about the help available to eligible people.
